Hehe, but really:

It's important that we as GMs (and you as players) know what's going on in the RP. So in this thread, you shall give us an update of what your character last did after every significant post. This will greatly aid QB in his record-keeping, and also allow us to make sure nothing important gets lost, and so that all GMs know when your character requires attention, as well as players you may be interacting with.

So here's how it works:

1) Each person will make ONE post in this thread. Posting more than once in this thread will get you PUNISHED. By one post, I mean I want you to edit your SINGLE post with new information each time. After the initial post, the only button you need to press EVER, is "Edit".

2) In this post you will give a BRIEF (I'm talking a sentence or two) summary of what your character did in your last post.

3) You will include ONLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

4) You will be sure to NOTIFY PEOPLE YOU'VE ATTEMPTED TO INTERACT WITH that you've done so. (i.e. Jenny asked Craig to accompany her on her journey).

5) You will be sure to NOTIFY US IF YOUR CHARACTER REQUIRES MY ATTENTION. (i.e. Queen! Jenny's looking for wild Pok?mon in the tall grass!)

6) You will list all items used/purchased, money spent/earned, Pok?mon captured, etc. in a succinct, easy format for QB to record.

THIS THREAD IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR READING THE IC POSTS. TREATING IT AS SUCH WILL GET YOU PUNISHED.

FAILURE TO USE THIS THREAD AND UPDATE IT AS WELL AS YOUR CHARACTER SHEETS WILL GET YOU (YOU GUESSED IT) PUNISHED.

Anthony HargroveAP

[Editor's note:? The eight-page, single-spaced letter from Commissioner Roger Goodell affirming the suspensions of the four players accused of involvement in the Saints' bounty program raises several intriguing points, arguments, and circumstances.? We're breaking them up into separate posts, because there's not much else to write about during the league's annual dead zone.]

Lost at times in the analysis of the Saints alleged bounty program is the rigid, almost military hierarchy that brings structure to the inherent chaos of football.

Coaches give orders, and players follow orders.

In this case, with former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams implementing a system that he reportedly used in at least two of the other cities where he coached, what options did his players have?? And so, at the June 18 appeal hearing, NFLPA outside counsel Jeffrey Kessler aruged that the players ?simply followed what their supervisors directed them to do.?

Setting aside for now the inconsistency between claiming there was no bounty system and arguing that the players were simply following orders when they participated in a pay-for-performance system that rewarded players for clean, legal hits that coincidentally caused injury, the argument has some basic appeal.

Commissioner Roger Goodell disagrees.? In the July 3 letter upholding the suspensions of Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, Saints defensive end Will Smith, Packers defensive end Anthony Hargrove, and Browns linebacker Scott Fujita, Goodell initially points out that ?[n]o evidence was offered at the [June 18] hearing to support that assertion, and it was contradicted by multiple individuals interviewed during the investigation.?

Goodell then explains that he ?took into account the actions of the coaches? in assessing discipline.

Of course, some would say that a one-year suspension for Vilma constitutes a much stiffer punishment than the one-year suspension imposed on Saints coach Sean Payton.? The difference between players? careers and coaches? careers resembles the distinction between dog years and human years.? Payton can coach two decades or more after his suspension ends; Vilma after sitting out an entire season may be done.

Then there?s Hargrove, suspended half of a year for lying to investigators.? Though he has never admitted to lying, he submitted a written declaration reflecting that Gregg Williams and Joe Vitt had told Hargrove what to say when meeting with the league back in 2010.

?Assuming for the moment that he was given such a direction,? Goodell writes, ?it does not excuse Mr. Hargrove from being truthful to NFL investigators when asked specifically about the existence of the program.? Mr. Hargrove?s conduct was all the more troubling because if he had been forthcoming when questioned in 2010, the program ? and the enhanced risk of injury that it entailed ? could have been stopped much sooner.?

Of course, that same point applies to Williams, who has been suspended at least one year, and Vitt, who has been suspended only six games.

Let?s focus on that for a second.? Hargrove allegedly lied to investigators, and Vitt alleged lied to investigators.? But the guy with the lower rank got a bigger suspension,? a gap that is magnified by the inherently shorter nature of the playing career.

Then there?s the reality that players who don?t follow orders can quickly find themselves ostracized, regardless of whether it?s an order they shouldn?t have followed.? At a time when the NFL is so intent on protecting those who secretly assisted the investigation from possible locker-room retaliation, why can?t the NFL acknowledge the basic reality that players who refuse to do what coaches tell them to do will see their dog-year careers instead mimic the lifespan of the mayfly?

Mexico's presidential election today is a choice between four candidates ? and not voting at all.?

By Sara Miller Llana / July 1, 2012

A man casts one of his ballots at a polling station in Atlacomulco, Mexico July 1. Mexico's more than 79 million voters went to the polls Sunday to elect a president, who will serve one six-year term, as well as 500 congressional deputies and 128 senators.

Jose Eduardo Salas is a young Mexican with a degree in mechanical engineering, no job, and few prospects, he says, so he is placing his vote in Mexico's presidential election today for Enrique Pe?a Nieto of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who he says he believes holds Mexico's best hope for progress.

He, like millions of other Mexicans, are at the polls today to elect a leader for the next six years, one who will have to address a sputtering economy and a crime wave that has seen over 50,000 killed in drug-related violence in the past six years.

Polls leading up to the race have put Mr. Pe?a Nieto at the front of a pack of four, even though the PRI held a tight, authoritarian grip on Mexico for 71 years, until it was voted out of power in 2000.

But many Mexicans remained undecided leading up to the race, and many have also opted not to vote, currents present in Salas's own family.

His grandfather, Roberto Cienfuegos, accompanied his grandson and son to the station, with their 2-year-old Boxer Kikon, but stayed outside. He has no plans to vote.

?It doesn't make a difference,? says Mr. Cienfuegos, who voted for the leftist candidate in the 2006 race who is also running this year, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. Mr. Lopez Obrador lost by less than a percentage point, declared fraud, and never accepted the results as many of his followers, including Cienfuegos.

His son, Juan Manuel Cienfuegos, did opt to vote ? though kept his pick private, as many Mexicans do ? but expressed deep skepticism that it will even make a difference. ?Crime and jobs are the most important problems,? says the small business owner. ?But no one is going to be able to solve either.?

Reports from around the country showed that voting was underway without any incidents of major violence. The polls are open until 6 p.m. local time and partial results are expected two hours later.

Pe?a Nieto's main rivals are Lopez Obrador of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) and Josefina Vazquez Mota of the right-leaning ruling party, the National Action Party (PAN). President Felipe Calderon is not running for re-election, as under the constitution presidents are barred from a second term.

Each of the candidates had clear supporters today when the Monitor asked voters what their preference was, except the fourth candidate Gabriel Quadri, the only candidate from outside the major parties: He is expected to figure in the low single-digits.

Here are profiles are the other three candidates, the policies that they are offering, and the baggage that their parties carry as election 2012 unfolds:

Enrique Pe?a Nieto

Backroom deals. Rigged elections. Pacts with drug lords.

Those are the accusations thrown at Mexico's?Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI)?after 71 years in power, an era that Nobel laureate?Mario Vargas Llosa?dubbed the ?perfect dictatorship.?

Galaxy Nexus

We heard it was going to happen, and today the Galaxy Nexus has appeared with a price and an "add to cart" button again in Google Play, but things are still a bit off. Prior to the sales ban, we were able to click and get almost instant gratification knowing the phone was shipping out immediately, but now we're seeing a two to three week delay. We're not sure if this is a way to get time to make changes to skirt Apple's legal team, but it sounds reasonable.

All we know is that with Jelly Bean, this is the phone to have. We're glad to see that add to cart button. If you've been thinking about it, might want to click it now before the next round of courtroom lunacy happens.

Order the Galaxy Nexus from Google Play. Thanks everyone who sent this in!

How to Invest in Stocks Online

To contact us Click HERE

When you get started investing online you need money at first. So you first want to be sure you have sufficient money to invest. But having money and funding your account is the easy part, before you get started it is necessary to learn the basics of how to invest online you want to learn how to examine stocks, how does online stock brokers work and how to fund your account. It is also good to read as many as many books as possible about stock trading online.

Learning the basics of stock trading

What is a stock? For approximately one year you should practice on an excel spreadsheet rather than investing money directly. Collect number of shares, stock prices, profit or loss, commissions and taxes from the stock market. You should study and examine the fluctuations and changes with the imaginary stock spreadsheet. Don't forget to calculate your net loss or profit from the share. Practice this way until you fully understand and become knowledgeable of stock trading. Then start online with an online discount broker. Discount brokers generally charge commissions of less than $10 per trade, some as low as $4 per trade, and some offer a limited number of free trades per year, provided you meet certain criteria. You should build a small portfolio around 40 stocks. You should keep your share for a long time and never sell it when market is down. It is always recommended that stay invested in stocks for at least five years or longer to see a return on your investment.

The role of discount brokers

Another area of stock trading you should understand is the role of stock brokers, and online brokers are called discount stock brokers. All stock brokers buy and sell stocks through an exchange. A stock broker is a person who has a license for trading through the exchange. On the other hand an exchange is like a warehouse in which people buy and sell stocks. Internet stock buying is a combination of using a stock trading and an online exchange system. With online stock trading you do not have the luxury of using a stock broker; you have to make the decision to decide yourself which stocks are to buy or sell; and you to use real money through your bank account. When you make the decision to use an online stock broker, if your strategy is short term trading, then it is better to consult with a discount broker that charges a per-trade fee. If you planning to invest long term you should consider using a discount broker that offers a flat monthly fee.

Funding your account

When you are ready to fund your bank account to start stock trading, remember not to use your personal savings or checking account which may have your emergency funds. You always want to have a separate account for your online trading which is not commingled with your emergency savings or checking account. When you are ready to fund your account to get started the quickest way is to link your bank account to the online stock broker account using the direct deposit feature. If you are not an experienced investor, only fund the account with as much money as you can afford to lose. When you are researching the stocks you want to buy you need to know the symbol, once you have the symbol you will be able to find the price for the stock that you want to buy. After you have found the symbol and know the price, you can decide the number of shares you want to buy, and in minutes you have purchase your stock online.

How To Eliminate Your Bad Debt

To contact us Click HERE

Understanding types of debt is crucial. Good debt is debt that you have that pays for itself. A a rental property or business that you own pays for the loan you took out for it is an example; your money is not going into it. This is the defining line. Bad debt is just about any debt that most of us have and includes credit cards, mortgages, loans for school (contrary to what some of us may have been told), cars, etc. I'm not saying that you shouldn't take out loans for school or a house but just that it's bad debt and should be paid off quickly. For years banks have marketed mortgages and educational loans as good debt in order to make money off of you.

Do you know if you take a mortgage on a $200,000 house at 6% for 30 years that you will pay at least an extra $200,000 in interest? So in 30 years, you're house is hopefully worth $400,000 which means you made NO return on your investment, you broke even. If your house is worth less than your total loan plus interest cost, you lost money! If you don't believe me, look at a loan amortization schedule. A better plan is to pay it off as soon as you can to save on the interest. How can you do this? Pay an extra one or two payments a year towards principal or larger lump sums. This will decrease the loan period from 30 to 15 years or less. Let's think about it for a second. Let's say your monthly payment is $1,500 month. As you pay your mortgage, you pay down your principal with the extra payments. As you pay the loan down, more of your money goes towards the principal and less to interest. After 15 years making one extra payment per year, you would pay an additional $22,500 towards your house. That means you gain an additional $22,500 in equity AND save in interest payments by paying off your loan sooner. Say you also save $45,000 in interest payments by paying down your principle with the extra payment. That means you just made a little over 100% on your money!

I know it's hard to grasp but it's true. By doing some simple math, you can find out for yourself how the numbers line up. This is a powerful tool for you to realize. Banks never want you to pay your mortgage off early; it costs them their huge profits from interest. Take this advice and you'll be one step ahead of the game. Imagine what will happen when you pay off your house in 15 years and invest the money that would have gone towards your mortgage into other areas!

Jamie has an MBA from Rutgers University and a Professional Certificate in Real Estate Finance, Investment and Development from NYU. He's traded stocks since he was 13 and bought his first property within a year of graduating college. He also flipped properties and got out before the 2008 mortgage meltdown because he was able to see the market turning before it happened. He's started two companies and also has experience in investing in antiques, collectibles, gold, silver and trading futures.

Need Money and Struggling With How to Spend Your Limited Money?

Implement a Budget to Help in Spending Your Money

Do you struggle with deciding how to spend your money? Most of us have a fixed amount of money to live on that we need to cover all our expenses. Regardless of how much that fixed amount is, it often does not seem like enough.

1. Set a Monthly Budget

The key to ensuring you stay within your financial constraints is to establish a monthly budget. To determine your monthly budget, start by reviewing your monthly spending history. To obtain your spending history, download your recent bank and card statements. Then record all your monthly expenses in an Excel spreadsheet. Once you have recorded your expenses, categorize them (i.e. utilities, mortgage, insurance, clothing etc.). By categorizing your expenses you will be better able to look at how you spend your money. It is imperative you do thorough due diligence on your expenses because this will set the framework for your monthly spending budget. Look at the categories you may be overspending on and determine what actions you can take to get your spending in control.

2.  Set Constraints

After you have reviewed your expenses and established your monthly budget, you need to decide how to adhere to the budget to reach optimal success. For instance, will setting up automatic bill pay help prevent you from overspending? Will having automatic deposits into a savings account improve your savings efforts? Be honest with yourself about your money weaknesses and try to implement ways to prevent making these money mistakes.

3.  Set a Schedule

Once your budget is in place and you have setup the necessary constraints to foster success, the last element to help you decide how to spend your money is to determine a schedule to monitor your budget. Establishing a schedule will help ensure your monthly budget is up to date with the latest expenses. You may decide the first of every month is the appropriate time to pull your monthly expenses and make any necessary changes to your budget.

Do not underestimate the importance of adhering to a budget to ensure you keep your family on track to meet all their financial goals. There is no shame in admitting you may succumb to financial pitfalls, but there is shame in not doing something about it. Having the confidence to get your family out of debt (or keeping them out of debt) is a skill. Our jobs as family CFOs (Chief Financial Officers) can be difficult and stressful, but you should take great pride in knowing how to spend your money successfully.

Time Isn't Always Money

To contact us Click HERE

Time is the most important resource we all have. Time will run out and you can never get it back. Time is the one link between you and every person in the world. We all have 24 hours in 7 days a week to work with. If you work a steady job think about your day. Your job takes up a large portion of time 5 days a week. You are trading time for a set payment every month. Now if you calculate your cash flow (income after expenses) you can see how long it will take to get rich. It is extremely hard to get rich when your income is directly correlated to the energy you exert every day. One option is to work harder to get a promotion, raise, or new job. However, your expenses will probably increase when your title or paycheck improve. This makes saving very difficult. Why not create passive income?

Passive income is the secret to wealth. Passive income is money that your money earns you. Passive income doesn't require time to find its way to your wallet. When you can successfully detach your time away from a money system, you will eventually become rich. Sounds easy right? Well....not necessarily. In order to get a strong passive income stream, a lot of work has to be done to create passive income vehicles.

  • First, you have to understand that you will work extremely hard upfront without getting paid. When creating for yourself, money doesn't come until the system is created and operating. It's a lot of work to build passive income vehicles such as real estate portfolios, stock portfolios, royalty checks, or a business.
  • Second, you have to find the time to put in the work. The difficult part about this is each passive income vehicle is a pool with sharks swimming. The pros swim in these waters to survive. They aren't in it for extra money. If you don't put in the time to really understand what you are doing, you will get swallowed up. Time will be a challenge if you have a family and major responsibilities. A supportive spouse and family is essential in this area. Communicate with them and include them so they know that your work will pay off in the end. Being up front with your family will eliminate a lot of distractions and you can focus on the details of your endeavor.
  • Lastly, you must be willing to walk away. Income isn't passive until your time is not attached. Building a system to run itself requires a different plan than building a system that depends on you to run it. Have an exit plan at the start and tailor all of your actions and energy into eventually walking away with consistent income.

If you study wealthy people you will notice that they all have mastered the art of creating passive income. Even if they work a business, their businesses have passive income. If you want to be wealthy, you must generate different streams of income not dependent on your time. You can only do so much in 24 hours a day. Work hard to create money that will work harder for you. This is the definition of passive income.

Corrective Money Management

To contact us Click HERE

When it comes to money management, there are two broad umbrella categories of skills: habitual skills and corrective skills. Habitual skills include all of the practices involved in good money management on a day-to-day basis: budgeting, saving, responsible shopping, etc. Corrective skills are the money management skills that are required in emergency situations. This can be anything from knowing how to cancel a stolen debit card quickly to effective credit negotiations.

This article will focus on developing good negotiation skills. If you have creditors trying to collect on your debts, and have at least some funds to start cutting back on your credit card debt, you will benefit greatly from adding the skill of credit negotiations to your money management skill set. Credit negotiation is an essential part of corrective money management skills. While habitual money management practices would keep credit issues to a minimum, why not start practicing some corrective money management habits now to cut back on creditor troubles?

Credit Negotiations: How It Works

Debtors often forget that creditors and lenders are often willing to work with them on a case-by-case basis in order to work through credit negotiations. Creditors are very often willing to do this even if it means cutting you a break on what you owe and not collecting the full sum. Because creditors are so used to not collecting all of a debt anyway, showing that you have some income and assets, as well as showing good faith to repay your creditors, can make you look like a gem amongst this crowd. More often than not, a creditor will be willing to negotiate with you if you are in this position. Oftentimes, they don't really expect to get anything without having to spend large sums of money chasing debtors. No one likes this. If you don't make them chase you, but come to them willingly, you might find yourself in the driver's seat for employing some good credit negotiation skills.

Not Just for Credit Card Companies

Credit negotiations don't only happen with the credit card companies. Whether you are dealing with a credit card company or your neighborhood community bank, most creditors are happy to take something when they are used to getting nothing. You may find it's easier to work with a local creditor rather than a large credit card company. Using good credit negotiations skills to determine how much you are going to repay as well as agreeing to a fixed schedule for repayment will take you a long way. Demonstrating good faith also helps a lot when dealing with creditors. Put these corrective money management skills to use today to help turn your situation around.

Best way until iPhone 5

Im in a position right now where i have both a unlocked UK Galaxy S3, and iPhone 4S, both are around 2 weeks ago,

I will pretty much deff get the iPhone 5 as i have my mac and look forward to a new phone as long as its not just a rehash of the 4S.

So my question is, which would be best to keep and which to sell now and before the iPhone launch?

Im tempted to put the money now towards an iPad, the one thing that makes me stick with apple is the amount of money i have spent on apps and games already, I'm going to use it on pay as you go when i move to USA in two weeks, but i do love the bigger screen of the S3, but selling and going forward wise which would be the best option to take?

Forum for completely Out of Character (OOC) discussion, based around whatever is happening In Character (IC). Discuss plans, storylines, and events; Recruit for your roleplaying game, or find a GM for your playergroup.

The Job Offer Is Not Always As Good As It Looks - Business

To contact us Click HERE

Have you ever negotiated an offer?

If not, you are not alone. Most people DO NOT negotiate salary. They accept what is offered.

Whether you negotiate a salary or not is secondary to doing your homework before accepting an offer. It is always best to take some time before signing on the dotted line so that you understand exactly what you are gaining - or losing.

Here's an example of someone who jumped at an offer before doing his homework.

Nicholas received an on-the-spot offer and was thrilled. This was the job he wanted and he was anxious to get started. He was going to get more money, and a bonus. What more could he ask for?

When he got home that evening, he sat down with pencil and paper and began to evaluate the offer, and what he was getting overall. He was not only shocked by what he discovered, but wished that he could go back and talk about some of the issues. But, he had signed on the "dotted line" that afternoon.

Once you sign the offer letter, you have essentially signed a contract. It is too late to go back and negotiate. Never accept an on-the-spot offer, unless it is absolutely out-of-this-world. It is generally wise to evaluate what you are gaining and losing. Let's look at what Nicholas found out by doing some simple calculations.

Nicholas was offered $55,000 per year, with a hiring bonus of $5,000 paid in two payments over the next six months. This was a $5,000 a year increase from what he was making on his last job, and a bonus to boot. An extra $10,000.00.

When he and his wife looked over the benefits package they discovered that he would now have to pay the insurance premiums for his dependents. His last employer had paid the premiums for the entire family. -$350.00/per month - $4200 per year His new vacation package offered two weeks time off, accrued over the next twelve months. His former package included three weeks vacation. -$962.00 one week's vacation pay

Nicholas was receiving a 6.5% yearly bonus, based on company earnings in his last position. His new company does not have a planned bonus as part of the salary. Bonuses are earned based on performance, and given as judged appropriate. -$3250.00 per year - lost bonus

His former employer matched 50 cents for every dollar contributed up to 6% on his 401K account. This company does not match funds. -$1500.00 per year (based on 6% contribution)

His calculations showed a minus of $10,000 a year from his new offer, based on cost of insurance premiums, lost bonus, and lost matching 401K contributions. He wasn't quite so thrilled with the offer anymore.

At least he got that $5000 hiring bonus, which will cushion the fall. But even that will be affected - he didn't anticipate the higher tax rate on "special" checks that was deducted from the bonus money. These higher rate taxes can run as high as 41.5%.

Nicholas got the job he wanted, and maybe that is worth more to him than the money difference. But, it would have been wise to make the decision with all the facts before signing the offer letter. He may have been able to negotiate another $5,000 to compensate for the benefits differences. Or, given the higher tax rate he could have negotiated for an increase in the hiring bonus.

It is always best to take some time to reflect on the "total package." Benefits can be worth another 20-50% of your salary. There are other factors to consider besides money - more challenging work, better company, a greater opportunity. It may be worth giving up dollars now to invest in your future. However, the decision should be thought through before rushing ahead.

If pressed to give your answer to an offer on-the-spot, always stall for time. Tell them that you need to do some calculations and think about it. There is only one window of opportunity to negotiate your terms of employment.. Once you say "Yes!" - the window closes.

Make sure you take the time to consider all your options. It's not always as good as it looks.

Diversification: It's Not Just For Portfolios - Investment

To contact us Click HERE

In previous articles, we have looked at diversifying our investments, our income, and finally our sources of retirement income. Today, I want to look at the simple process of determining just how much you are going to need in order to retire comfortably. The first step is to estimate your current living expenses. If you use a budget, this step will be very easy and very accurate. You can even average you expenses over several months to provide a better picture of what you spend. If you do not use a budget (shame on you) it will require a little more work, but it is still pretty easy to do.

Once you have your expenses identified, it is time to take a look at what you are spending your money on. There will be certain things that you will no longer need to pay for after you retire. Hopefully, your home will be paid for, you will no longer need life insurance, and you should see a reduction in expenses related to work, such as commuting costs and clothing. You should also adjust your travel expenses and recreation expenses to reflect things that you would like to do once you are retired.

Let's say that you have a family income of $80,000. After adjusting you living expenses above, you will find that you will be able live quite comfortably on 60 to 70% of your current income. In our example you would need to have a retirement income of about $56,000.

The next step is to add up your investments. Most people have no idea how much money they have saved in various retirement accounts. Maybe you have an IRA that you haven't contributed to in five years. You have a 401k plan that you contribute to on a monthly basis. Maybe you have other investment accounts as well. All of these things need to be totaled so you can determine where you are.

The more money you have saved to this point in your life, the less you will have to save between now and retirement. You do not want to use your house in this calculation unless you are intending to sell it and pocket the money when you retire.

You now have an idea of what it will cost you to live after you retire and how much you currently have saved for retirement. At this point you must make some assumptions about the future in order to determine how much you need to save to complete your retirement savings.First you need to estimate your lifespan. How long you live will determine how much money you need to have saved so that you will not run out of money before you run out of life. A cool online longevity test can be found at:

/tn/learnctr--lifeevents--longevity

You work through several steps and as you answer the questions, it will give you an estimate of how long you should live. It also will give you suggestions for increasing your longevity.
